End of august, the “InChI” had a triad of meetings in Aachen, hosted by Sonja Herres-Pawlis and her team at RWTH Aachen University. The InChI is a molecular identifier which is developed and safeguarded by the InchI Trust and the IUPAC. First, the InChI Trust came together for the semi-annual Trust Board Meeting to discuss the future development and new sustainablity models for the InChI. The next day, the InChI developer meeting took place where technical key steps for the future development of the InChI were agreed upon.
Results
Key results are: the inorganic InChI goes into the general public testing phase (have a look here: https://iupac-inchi.github.io/InChI-Web-Demo/ and choose “latest”), new strategies for the advanced stereochemistry also in inorganic chemistry have been taken and the application InChIs are planned in a detailed roadmap to cover recent advances in polymer chemistry, nanochemistry and for mixtures.
Moreover, the annual general meeting of the InChI Trust was held where the actual developments and future plans were shared with the community. All these developments are enabled and supported by the InChI Trust and its members, the VolkswagenStiftung, NFDI4Chem and the Beilstein Stiftung.
