New functions for RADAR4Chem with release v 1.23.1

Integration of standardized terminologies via the NFDI basic service TS4NFDI

Standardized terms from curated terminologies can now be selected and applied in the “Keywords” metadata field via typeahead using a drop-down list. The standardized terms, including the associated ontology, are clearly displayed on the RADAR4Chem landing page and are also persistently stored in the metadata. The implementation took place as part of our participation in the incubator cycle of the NFDI basic service TS4NFDI, which is coordinated by the Base4NFDI network, and also includes the domain specific NFDI4Chem Terminology Service. Please note:  In order to make the new suggestion function for standardized terms available in the keyword field, it must first be activated by the RADAR4Chem curators of your institution via the “Edit Workspace” form. One or more terminologies and/or complete ontology collections (e.g. the NFDI4Chem ontology collection) can be assigned for configuration. This is currently possible by entering the corresponding abbreviations or names (comma-separated, without spaces), as they can be found here. A more convenient selection via drop-down menu is planned for a future release. Data providers are shown transparently under “Workspace information” whether and which ontologies or ontology collections are available for them.

Import from GitLab repositories

Since the end of last year, RADAR offers a convenient import option for data directly from GitHub repositories. With the new software, RADAR also supports import from GitLab repositories. [more]

Please note:  The GitLab/GitHub import option must be activated by FIZ Karlsruhe for your RADAR4Chem workspace. Would you like to use the new feature? – Contact the RADAR4Chem-Team at info@radar-service.eu!

New metadata schema v9.2

The updated schema enables the integration of standardized terminology via TS4NFDI and implements pending adjustments to the current DataCite Kernel 4.6.

Details on the new metadata schema v9.2 can be found on the support pages or directly in the revised metadata schema documentation (PDF). [more]

Please note: When using the RADAR REST API, replace “version”: “09” or “version”: “9.1” in the code block “POST body for creating a new dataset” with “version“: “9.2” (see RADAR API documentation). RADAR API users will be informed in a separate emailing.

Optimized notification workflow between sub-curators and curators

From now on, sub-curators can add an individual free text message to every notification email. [more]

New statistics function at workspace level

A transparent overview of resource usage in your RADAR4Chem workspace will be available in read mode. [mehr]

If you have any questions about the new functions, please contact the RADAR4Chem team at info@radar-service.eu.
