Call for Contributions
As part of the NFDI4Chem mission to promote FAIRness and standardization in chemistry, we are continuing the development of MIChIs (Minimum Information about Chemical Investigations). MIChIs provide reporting guidelines that define the minimal set of metadata required to ensure the reproducibility of chemical investigations — in other words, they answer the question: What information does a chemist need to reproduce another chemist’s results?
We have already published the first version of the MIChI for NMR spectroscopy:

The UV-Vis MIChI
The UV-Vis MIChI is now following. Our first UV-Vis MIChI workshop, held on 19 September 2025, brought together participants from several institutes representing expertise in chemistry, ontologies, and data standards. The workshop concluded with the approval of our initial draft, incorporating valuable recommendations and edits.
We are pleased to announce that the amended UV-Vis MIChI draft is now ready and will be published before the end of the year. In the meantime, we warmly invite the community to review the draft and share comments or requests for improvement.
